Surely that's just because most folk just have their televisions switched on throughout the entire day. Don't think there are that many of HM's subjects who believe there is much significance in any of her Christmas Day 'messages'.
I notice that the left wing rag the "Mirror" went into meltdown about the gilded piano that was in the background calling it a "gold" piano.
