ave you ever tried Spread betting?

I used to trade in stocks every day and messed with some options but never did Spreads. I am being offered free money (yet again!) by an online poker site just to mess around with their spreads for a bit. Does even free money expose me to a downside risk? Do you need to use stops? Is it lucrative/difficult/risky?
