The Big Apple = New York = N...Y

. . . if that helps!
Nasty
NY = Big Apple (New York)
T = Trump's first (letter)
Nasty

As t(rump) inside NY ?
Ut (Latin for as) + T(rump) in NY

Well done calibax
'ut' doesn't mean 'as' in Latin. It means 'so that' or 'in order to'.
JimF, Chambers dictionary - standard reference for many crosswords - gives 'ut adverb and conjunction, as'. It appears in usages such as 'ut supra', as above, and 'ut infra', as below. I thought it was a very good solve by Calibax!
An excellent solve, I am still struggling with English.
:-)) me too!
It was one of those occasions where you think, 'I wish I had seen that'!
It also means shed in the West Riding.
I thought that ‘nasty’ was too obvious a parse for myops but my Latin is virtually non-existent - only did it for a year at school (and that was a long time ago!)
Ut Supra. :o)
:-)))
