I saw this on the news last night. It'd be fantastic if this man could get a fly past for these war heroes. It's been on the radio this morning and seems to be gaining lots of momentum.

A nearby RAF station is considering his request for a fly-past.
Momentum is one thing but will it take off?
poor kid
worst case of survivors guilt ....
he felt terrible that he hadnt been killed from day one
( 1944 )
Goes along and talks to them every day before he does anything else

I felt terribly sorry for him
( not the doughboys - they're dead)
Is it survivor's guilt, pp, or just an absolutely indelible memory in a child's mind that has never left him but probably intensified as his life has gone on?
PP, There is nothing in the article to suggest that he feels any guilt.
He was asked about guilt this morning and admitted that it was guilt that kept him visiting the site.
Thanks geo.
I noticed that, danny. Gratitude certainly but guilt ...?
Fair enough - apologies to pp.
Very sad tale, probably the biggest thing to happen in his life and he just couldn't handle it.
