mathmos lava lamp - original?

how would i tell if the lava lamp i picked up from the local tip is an original? it looks oldish, and has a heavy tripod base with mathmos stamped on the base. the base is silvery coloured.

You could phone Mathmos and ask them if there are any giveaway clues - 01202 676633. Mine has Mathmos imprinted into it rather than stamped on top

If it has Mathmos onit, then it's an original Mathmos, I would have thought
