The figures from this report on a Welsh pilot scheme using dashcam clips sent in by the general public are interesting. 650 out of over 2,300 led to action by the police.
It looks like this will be rolled out nationwide. Seems a good idea on the face of it, but police manpower demands will need to be watched carefully. And the usual suspects will undoubtedly dismiss it as a stealth tax.
Not sure how it will be looked at as a ‘stealth tax’ because a fine for careless or idiotic driving is just that, a fine.
Some won’t even be fined, just advised as to their future conduct or made to attend driver awareness courses.
I’m currently awaiting the outcome of 2 instances with NWP and will contact them next week for status updates.
Good there is a right Merchant Banker who drives (can you guess?) and Audi nearly took out a whole line of traffic that I was in driving behind a tractor by overtaking at least 5 cars on a double white line on the A49 the other day and JUST squeezed in front of the tractor as an Artic coming the other way slammed his brakes on for all he was worth. I could have cheerfully caught him and dragged him out of his dick extension car and pummelled the flaming life out of him the utter muppet, but then that'd be road rage I suppose.

Could be something in that kval, it was an Audi driver that almost took me out......
It was also one bloke in an Audi and another in a BMW killed a poor woman coming the other way racing each other on the same stretch of road last year, they're a flaming menace, hardly any of them can drive.
When my Audi was written off in Sept. there was now doubt whose fault it was, Police checked the rear view camera and the guy that ran into the back of us was looking out of the side window at the time of impact, banged to rights.
