Mouse Problem

A friend of mines has Mice in her bedroom cupboard, i.e droppings etc are visible.
They have put down Mousetraps and caught 4 mouse as well laying down quite a lot of light blue Mouse Pellets which they have been eating regularly.
As far as I am led to believe, one a mouse ingests these pellets, they scurry off to their nest and eventually die.
However as the amount of pellets is quite substantial, it would lead me to think that either the mice are resistant to the pellets or there are a large
family of mice in a nest somewhere closeby.
My friend has called in the local council but all the Pest Control Officer did was to put down more pellets which they are consuming eagerly.
Has anyone got any ideas or suggestions on how to now tackle this mouse problem.

i heard if you block the holes with wire wool it stops mice and rats

find out where the mice are coming in and block it. While mice can get in and its a mouse friendly environment, incomers will replace the dead ones.

It depends what the mouse pellets are, if they are anticoagulants they are designed not to kill quickly so that they don’t become associated with death, the mice continue to eat them and eventually die from internal bleeding. Once you have laid mouse pellets keep pets away as if they eat an infected mouse they could become very ill

Some time ago I heard a pest controller on the radio and he said that most people didn't believe how small a hole could allow a mouse access to a building. Basically, if you can fit a normal biro through any external hole then a mouse can get in. He was so adamant that he repeated it. Makes one think.
