Restoring a Pocket PC backup

I backed up my Pocket PC on to my laptop but now that I'm trying to restore the information, it doesn't recognise the Pocket PC. Can anyone tell me what I can do please?

Have you completely erased all data on your PPC? If so then you will need to run the loader software that came with your PPC. Are you using the (useless) new version of activesync? If so try re-installing it. Make sure that it is a USB or serial CABLE connection, NOT wireless (e.g. infared or Bluetooth)
