Gastritis Just Diagnosed. Help Needed With Diet
8 Answers
Ive just been told I have erosive gastritis and on tablets to help with nausea. Lansoprazole helps with the nausea. However, I am off food in general, even when I feel peckish. Nothing temps me. I have looked up some sites for gastritis but they are all very 'American', mentioning foods Ive never heard of. Can anyone recommend a good book I could use to help my diet? Suitable snacks, meals etc? TIA

alcohol
coffee
acidic foods like tomatoes and some fruits
fruit juice
fatty foods
fried foods
carbonated drinks
spicy foods
any foods that you already know irritate your stomach lining
Small portions and as often as you can manage.
Perhaps see if there's a dietician at GP surgery.

You know, not eating may not be a bad thing. Fasting is a great way for your stomach to rest and heal. A 72 hour fast (with lots of water!!) is great for re-setting the immune system. Bland foods are not going to be great for you. I would get a York test done and find out what foods you are intolerant to, and avoid them in future.
I’ve been suffering from a gastro problem and been very, very sick. Although I’m starting to feel slightly better nothing seems to taste right and I have no appetite although I’m hungry. I was recommended to try natural yogurt or a thing called kefir. Today I managed to enjoy tomato soup with toast. Dry toast with a small amount of Marmite hits the spot too. Boiled egg ?
