Hi Jordy - welcome back.
I know you and I have had our times in the past, but I did want to sincerely welcome you back to the AB, and also offer my sincere condolences on the passing of your old friend.
Loving anything or anyone means pain eventually, we accept that part of the bargain, but it does nothing to lessen the hurt when it comes.
From experience, I don't think you do 'get over' the loss of a loved person or pet, what you do is assimilate that loss, and weave it into your life's experience, and try to focus on the good memories, and ride out the grief when it lands on you.
