Daughter's Mobile Phone - Billed For Call She Didn't Make.

Daughter has been billed some 30 quid for a call she didn't make - to Pakistan. She knows nobody out there and the phone has been with her at all times. O2 wanting to bill her - how does she handle it as the front-line and shop saying 'Tough'

Could some one have picked up her phone and made a call without here knowledge?

that's what I have asked of her - and if the answer comes back that it has, what's her legal position?

If she didn't make the call then she should just ignore it.It is up to 02 to prove that she did in fact make the call.

The phone was in her bra when she was working apparently.

I can just about understand the phone dialing a random international number if it was pressing tightly against your daughter but I'd expect it to be a French number.

I would have thought that unless the phone was reported as stolen she would be liable for any calls made from it.

Same thing happened to a friend of mine with her sky account on her landline. She has been billed for a call to China costing £15.00. She lives on her own and does not know anyone in China. They are adamant she made the call but how could she, not as though it is a short number to dial?

I've asked her to look at her phone memory and determine that - I'm assuming it's not there and to give O2 a rough time, but to pay the bill net of that call ...if it is there, then it may be a'cost of life'.
