Although I couldn't bare looking at her miserable face and hearing her whiney (?) voice I was moved to tears watching Emmerdale last night! I thought the way the producers handled it was great - even though Sam is dopey they kept it sensitive and real and I found it really moving - especially with the gentle music in the background. So choked at the end I had to reach for the tissues. Anyone else moved as much as I was??

i also had a tear in my eye.
I felt for them, i know its not real, but it does happen to people in everyday life.

It made me feel, that if we where in that much pain we should have the choice to die, without someone being prosectued. but then thats a whole different debate.
I cried too I must admit. Certainly will raise some interest in euthanasia.
It was fantastic acting , i am not abig fan of emmerdale, but my gosh the director should give him/herself a pat on the back. Nice one, a bit of decent acting in a british soap, about time too!
I was a little weepy too ;-)
And then an hour later Chelsea and her mum arguing from Enders got me started again.
I bloody missed it! :-(
Yes, it was well done. The woman who played Alice shaved her own hair off & did a lot of reasearch into Hodgkins Lymphona. She also lost a drastic amount of weight to portray the character`s illness as realistic as she possibly could.
what was the music played?
I must admit I was genuinely moved to tears last night - and this is from someone who couldn't wait for the character of Alice to expire! The girl was obsessed with chickens, waving her hands about and did some very odd things with her mouth......

James Hooton is great as Sam and I feel that it was due to his vulnerability turning to quiet strength last night that really captured this very sensitively made episode.
The music was called 'Easy Come, easy Go' - written and performed by Rob Ellis especially for their wedding in June - and heard again last night.

The CD is on sale and proceeds go to Leukaemia Research.
Ah I might have to buy it coz tried downloading it back when it was played for the wedding and couldnt
It was amazing acting. My brother died from the same thing and they certainly researched it well. Yes, I cried.
