M60 - Specs Cameras
Has anyone else seen these? I frequently travel between junctions 21 and 24 and the yellow gantries have been up a few weeks. By yesterday most of them had cameras installed.
They are specs (average speed) cameras aren't they? Are these all around the M60 all at once or just around Oldham / Ashton / Denton?
I suppose it's understandable as it is a 4 lane downhill stretch!

I'm not going to open a can of worms and start a speeding debate. Just wondered if they were average speed cameras but mainly, if they are all the way round or just at junctions 21-24?
Thanks

Yes they are definately forward facing so Bikers really can pretend they arn't there. However some double up as road gantry CCTV so if somebody somewhere in an operating room saw you attempting to set the land speed record on the M60 then I'm sure that they would alert a local police force or something. I've heard of this happening a couple of times before so still be carefull.
I travel from the Broadway junction past these Fancy-Dan cameras and can tell you that they currently go no further than the Denton island junction. I get off at the M56 which is past Stockport so I can't speak about anywhere clockwise beyond that but I suspect they're only temporary whilst the roadworks take place (hopefully!).
However, no-one bothers sticking to 40mph anyway so the general consensus is to ignore them.
