headline news stories with the term "speedboat killer" before the facts are known for what was obviously an accident. Talk about prejudging the terrible event that happened and this man will never have an unbiased reception when he returns to this country.

Newspapers usually get away with things like this by putting inverted commas around the accusatory description.
he was tried and convicted in his absence (he could have stuck around to defend himself but didn't) so the description is legitimate.
as it was obviously an accident, why was he found guilty of manslaughter?
As it was an accident, why did he flee?
Totally agree, alba.
Manslaughter by gross negligence, alba. He allowed the lass to drive the boat when she had no experience whatsoever.

Nothing prejudged, he's already been judged and sentenced passed, we're just awaiting his return in order for him to serve it.
Although found guilty, he has been given leave to appeal.
Shepherd’s defence said they would be fighting extradition to the UK arguing that his life could be in danger.

It is alleged that he fled for fear of his life as her dad was ''high up'' in some circles - in his hearing in Georgia he said he wished he'd had the chance to sit down with the family.

Obviously he can't make up his mind.

Hopefully, at least 3 months in Georgia will help.
he has, Canary, but in the meantime he can accurately be called a convicted killer.
Why did he flee? He's a coward
why would an innocent man flee? running away makes him look guilty. A witness puts him in the driving seat and he keeps changing his story
Has he yet to stand trial for glassing someone or has that case been disposed with?
The witness that saw him driving has only just come forward and has sold her story to the Mail!
