Playing mp3 in WMP

A couple of my mp3 files are not playing in WMP. I understand that it might have something to do with the codec not being supported. Is there any way I can change it so that the file is recognised in WMP. I can play it with every other program.

i assume these are mp3s' you downloaded ? if so, just download them again and see if they work.
