At 1830 tonight our Scabby Tabby, Miggs, left us with a little help from a very kind and gentle Vet who had been monitoring him for the last couple of months, he'd not been very well for some time, he went downhill over the weekend. He passed away on a blanket on my lap.
He was 14½ years old, we had had him from about 7 weeks.
He was Boss Cat as far as the Dobies were concerned, he teased the hell out of them on a daily basis and got a lot of respect in return, and a space in their beds when it was cold.
Think we'll all miss him.

@ Ladybirder 01:29. Re. his name, OH picked him out of the litter, he had and almost identical Sister. When she collected him she thought she had collected her which at the time was what she wanted. We have a Blackadder thing with Pet names, she was going Mrs Miggins. When I spotted the mistake a couple of days later, there was no way he was going back, he was a character, and the name became Miggs.
Sorry to hear your news, they are a part of your life, not just a pet but a huge part of the family. I still miss Puss who we lost 15 months ago and still get moist eyes even now. You will always have fond memories.
So sorry about your cat Baldric, at least he had a good life with you and your family, and he will be forever in your heart
Sorry to hear this. Have been there too. What a lovely ending for him.

We've not had a cat for the last 4 years since we lost Miggs,
https://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Animals-and-Nature/Pets/Question1391773-1.html He was a Burmese not really a scabby tabby, slept where ever he fancied including sharing with the two Dobies we had at the time when it was cold. At the moment our two rescue dogs are terrier based so think another cat is not a good idea for the time being.
