Fancied fish and chips tonight - oven chips and a piece of salmon with lemon. I had Harry Ramsden's mushy peas and they didn't taste of much, to he honest. Are there any nicer ones around?

Co-op own brand are good - a drop of brown sauce is my personal additive - but I'm a bit weird ...

It's true that most cheap tinned versions will need extra salt - the health police are very thorough on plebeian food - only Waitrose shoppers can be trusted with properly seasoned food it seems.

The whole point of having fish and chips is so that you can chuck a load of salt on it so that doesn't bother me.
I love mushy peas, when I can't be bothered to soak I have found that the Aldi cheap ones are the best! - I know it doesn't seem right, but they were proper tasty! - I too found the harry ramsdens ones awful!
We’ve been just had Batchelors tinned ones, original variety rather than chip shop variety. I wouldn’t have any others. Down to personal taste really isn’t it.
