How To Find A Good Private Detective
10 Answers
So - in UK - have any of you used a private detective? How to find a "good one". ? Id like to try find some "dirt" (if any exists) on a person who has really double crossed us business wise. I do NOT want to break the law.... I just want some leverage as to if he has got any "secrets". (eg kids that he has defaulted on child support, ex wives that he has annoyed, business people he has shafted in the past, dirty deals etc).
I looked online but theres so many "private detective" co's out there so - I don't want to waste money.

I look forward to hearing back.
As I said there re lots online but...how to know which companies are good and which are not is the awkward bit. I'd really value some advice from you / your acquaintances who may have real experience of using one of these folk. Will wait to hear back
Thanks!

Im not even sure what im going to do with the info tbh - I just feel like this B***** holds all the cards and I'd like to say to him " I know a little bit about you that others don't" ....
I wont do anything illegal or threatening
He has stitched us up like kippers in a business deal (but been very clever and legal about it so he has not broken any UK law but is very immoral nonetheless...if that makes sense without going into detail...).
Id just like to remind him that although he holds the cards legally we might (if there is any "dirt" about him) have info that he doesn't want others to know.
There may well be nothing but.... I suspect such a rat as he will have skeletons.
He is a horrible man who has no conscience (astute businessman but immoral) and will happily bankrupt us it seems --- my husb and I are NOT criminals we entered into business deal with him in good faith but were VERY NAIVE (ie stupid, uneducated) and he is set to "scr*w" us for every hard worked penny.
I am NOT being melodramatic but for 2 years my husband has battled cancer - lived (barely) and come back from the brink where ICU doctors were telling me he had hours, (not days) to live...he's survived all this to have some horrible horrible business man take everything away - it is NOT the material things I worry about (my husband is alive thats all that matters) but our business agreement with him threatens to have us lose our home, our savings..... and that will have devastating emotional impact on my husband and im scared it will impact his health

We've probably all felt like this at some point when we are emotionally involved but I would share what I think is Barmaid's caution. it could cost a few thousand pounds to get a feeling of revenge and may just escalate things- what if the shafter tries the same on you. It may even turn up nothing -except a bill for you. I'd wait a week or so to see if you still feel the same.
