Well Gizzy the end is nigh. Just wanted to let you know.

Received an email from my dentist last night and I didn't know it was as near but my appointment for impressions was to be next Monday - they cancelled it due to unforeseen circs but am booked for 15th so last stage is on it way and I am getting a little anxious to say the least. I just hope I have done the right thing - in fact need to bite the bullet (not with my newbies tho) and get it over with.

Will be glad to get rid of these brandyballs/sherbet lemons (dentures) in my mouth.

JJ, I asked J9PUR about a mouth rinse in your situation.

His reply

//In JJ's situation, post-surgery, Chlorhexidine mouthrinse would be the mouthrinse of choice to promote healing. It is also a good antibacterial. //

Hi Giz - well from that operating surgery (to me) I did'nt know what what was growing on.

From the Friday I suspected like scabs on the mouth (they didn't tell) now as time went on I am now realising they are the little pinns - getting ready for the realmacoy. in a few weeks. He told this was colour and adjustments.

And after after a few weeks - the final teeth. Thats all I'm trying to tell you and so with great happenesss I am at the end of nigh
Oooh - not long now :)

I don't know if you've had stitches or not, but I did, so I had to go back a week or so later to have them removed; then another 2 weeks or so before the impressions were taken. (I've kept a copy of all my appointments and costs, along with squillions of photos).

When your impressions are taken, the abutments will be attached to the implant. This is a metal post that screws in to the implant and the crown will be attached to this with a "cement". These abutments will only be in place for the impression and will be removed after the impression has been taken.
Then it's a final wait of approx 2-3 weeks for the final fitting :)

I'm only going off what I went through, so your treatment may be slightly different.

Good luck ......

Thanks Giz and the rest of you for your replies.

I'm glad I'm nearly at the end of the journey anyway.

Giz I forgot to tell you that when he was putting in the silver buttons - he also done the impressions like 2 visits in one.

The Trial teeth are ones has to colourmatch against mine and also make alterations if needs be. Then a few weeks I finally get the new ones.

thanks for helping me through this.
