I remember going swimming in the open air pool at the Marina and I worked at the Wellington Pier as a drinks waitress in the summer season for several years back in the year dot .Joseph Hoffer and his Oompah band and they had Martin Gluth and Helen King who used to sing songs from operettas. I know The Merry Widow off by heart :)Happy days.Unfortunately GY is nowhere near as nice as it used to be and the poor old Wellie stands forlorn and empty ,rusting away and falling to bits.

Hi both...I had three of four holidays there as a child and this brought back so many memories. I'd forgotten the snails and the skating. We went to shows and my mother made me stand with her autograph book to be signed.....the one that sticks out was The Morton Frazer Harmonica Gang.....grumpy and scared me to death.... :-)
