All grid entered except: 28 across: Branch office without a foreman (4) ?OSN (this will either have a missing or extra letter in the wordplay)
Because with many of the entries I have I'm stuck on the missing/extra letters.
Am I correct that the theme stats as: Defines and fights?
With 4 across: Capital conservative invested in very good decorative work I'm unsure what the missing/extra letter is I have the answer as STUCCO (very good = SO, conservative = C so I'm left with TUC)
Think this maybe easier than last week (hopefully!)

Finished the grid . Got the theme and the first 4 words of the instruction but the rest doesn’t make sense. Obviously done something wrong.I can see which letters are to be changed but not what to.Could some kind person give a hint to the last part of the instruction without giving too much away. Thanks.

Jadzia, I'm not sure what you mean about 'letters to be changed'. There are only another two words in the instruction, one of nine letters, one of five. I got the last word first, the final clues proved more generous at letting me see the wordplay, extra letter stuff. Hope this helps.

My missing/extra letters are a bit of a jumble, but somehow I've managed to stumble on the theme. Am I correct in deleting four names (which I've done and it makes sense) with the final three do I need to use a particular colour to highlight?
I've got a stinking cold, but I don't think I'll infect anyone via the internet!!!!

As far as I can work out only four died B, L, H & B. Chris, Vin & Chico survived - so who do I eliminate? Or have I missed someone? Think I need paracetamol (or a large Scotch!)
