I don't think that's true. Say, for example, you were dithering, perhaps reluctant to intrude upon someone’s life after years apart – not knowing if you would be welcome or not - or even unsure you really wanted to do it. If I were in that position, I might be tempted to look to see if anyone was searching for me before abandoning my anonymity and exposing myself to THEIR intrusion. I’ve known lives destroyed by people from the past popping up uninvited. Cans of worms and all that ....
