F T IS 3.50
Who knew there was a saint of puzzles or that they had a mobile retinue?

You live, you learn.
I can't comment on the ST as I don't get it, but -

Bordeaux - are you getting the FT just for the puzzles? In case you were unaware, they're free here - https://www.ft.com/crossword
Yes, because everything is too squashed up.
On a plus side it means I can immediately discard the Business & Money section which I never looked apart from the puzzle pages
I am irritated by the move scousegal73.
Mephisto is now marooned in the middle of the page, and you can't fold the page in half without hiding the clues (and it's a big page!).
The Sunday Express have done something similar. The inside back page used to be the Brain Teasers, Alphapuzzle and Ultimate Alphabeater with the Sodoku, Crusader and Skeleton across the page from them. Today they have switched places? Nothing irritating about it - just cannot understand why it's been done.
I simply fold the page either side of Mephisto and use a clipboard
When I need a clipboard to do my crosswords I'll give them up mra1.
