criteria for applying for personal loan
3 Answers
I have applied for a personal loan and turned up at the appointment with the relevant i.d etc as requested. I was then told I needed to show my bank statement for the past 30 days, (which I hadn't brought with me as it was not requested). My question is that, although I have an excellent credit rating and meet all the other criteria, I am concerned that a dss payment on my statement (as I was sick for a while) will stop me from getting the loan - even though I have a letter from my employer showing my salary.? Any help would be appreciated.

They should be chasing you to give you money and can easily base their decision on credit search results (although bank statements can be very informative).
I'd be tempted to go elsewhere as I'm an irritable git.
"A letter from your employer" ? Did you have to get this drafted specifically for the loan? If so I would *definitely* go elsewhere.
