No he's not right. Of course his insurance won't cover him if he doesn't have a licence. He should also have told his insurance company that he had lost his licence.
If you could drive after losing your licence because you still had insurance, nobody would bother taking the test and getting a licence in the first place!
i think you mean, lost it,meaning cant find it etc,if that is the case then, yes of course he can still drive, but if its been taken away by the courts, then no of course he cant and you should report him to the police, before he kills someone
Yes, if you merely mean misplaced, it will have no effect. You are qualified to drive if you posess or have possesed a valid driving license and have not been disqualified from holding one.
My bf had sent his paper driving licence to the DVLA to be issued with a photocard licence.
During this time he was involved in a RTA in which someone hit the back of him, resulting in both parties being issued with a producer.
When he went to produce his documents, he informed them of his licence to which they slapped him with a sumons to court for dangerous driving.
Our solicitor stated that by law you are allowed 28 days to retrieve your licence and re-produce but he still ended up with a court appearance and court costs to pay.
The judge threw it out of court, but i would advise your friend to be careful in case of a more serious incident whilst driving.
