As far as I am aware , an ectopic pregnancy will still give you a positive test result as the test detects high levels of HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadatrophin) in your bloodstream so if you have had a negative result then I wouldn't think that that would be indicative of an ectopic pregnancy. In saying that , negative test reults are not always reliable and if pregnancy is still suspected , you should test again in a few days time. Have you had any blood loss or severe abdominal pain concentrated down one side of your body ? Those are usually telltale signs of an ectopic pregnancy. You should make an appointment with your GP asap if you are in pain and worried about it. Perhaps you could even book a tel call with your GP rather than having to attend the clinic but get it checked out if you are worried. It may be something or nothing but you won't know if you don't ask x
I should also have said that stomach pain can be caused by many things which is why it is best to check with you GP who can advise you better. It is worth noting though that in early pregnancy when the embryo is attaching itself to the womb , abdominal pain can be felt and in some cases , there may even be slight blood loss. It is only usually a worry if the pain is severe , concentrated down one side of the body or and/or accompanied by heavy blood loss. I tested negative on two occasions with my youngest daughter before testing a third time to find it was positive. My doctor told me that I was probably testing too early and that the test did not detect high enough levels of HCG to produce a positive result. Don't worry though , as I said it could be something and nothing. Speak to your GP x
My sister in law had an eptopic pregnancy earlier this year and her pregnancy tests showed up as positive.

If you're worried and want advice call the Family Planning Clinic Helpline (08453 101 334). I've used them several times and they're really nice people and you don't have to give any personal details.
any reason why your stomach pain shouldn't be just a stomach pain? Go for the simplest explanation first.
And, go to your doctor.
