Hand Washing

Stemming from sunflowers question, how many of you wash you hands after using your own toilet?

Yes I wash my hands. I live in a full household, and it has always been part of the routine & basic manners. I give my son (who is the worst for cleanliness) merry hell if he doesn't wash his hands after going to the loo!

It's not just food hygiene ~ it's the fact that you touch everything in the house..door frames, door handles etc. I am in no way, shape or form a 'clean freak' but basic hygiene is important to me :o)

4getmeknot, sorry, it still would matter. Loads of other shared objects are handled. Failing to wash hands after number 2 is to me indefensible.

Oh yer I agree with the number 2 bit. Dont know why as flipflop said you hardly put your hand in it. But it is just a matter of course with me.

I always do, but it's now occuring to me that I don't know of a good reason why you should have to after a "number 1". I'm only touching a piece of my own body, and never come into contact with the urine itself. I probably pick up more germs answering someone else's phone.

Supernick, it's not about what you might pick up yourself, it's about showing a hygenic and social responsibility to other people. How long does it take to wash your hands ?

and as I've said whiffey washing hands makes no difference, as you take the germs back of the tap when you turn it off.

Oh whiffey it wasnt a battle to give up on. I'm not saying either way is right or wrong, but no one has ever got the hygeine police out if you havent washed your hands. :-)

yes 4get menot I always wash. Going back to the previous thread of mine, sometimes when you are in a public loo it is lovely to have a bit of a freshen up of the hands when you are there. Some of the motorway service stations are divine! I always have a good hand wash and dry in them and never think twice about touching the taps etc after.

I lick myself clean like a dog does, and i'm only sick from it about once a month, so it aint that bad.
