Kwik fit are running an add on the radio at the moment, they give you a number to text your reg number to them, then they will message you when your M.O.T is due, and make you an appointment. They say when your M.O.T is done you will drive away HAPPY. Your thoughts?

I know . It is to counter RockRoses assertion that the MOT in NI is nothing like the mainland MOT. No one ever mentioned a pre-MOT check. Not even JJ. If a pre MOT check by an independent garage was mentioned in the first place then their posts would make some sense.

Yes, it really makes a lot of sense to pay for a pre-MOT check before you take the car in and pay for the actual Mot test.

There is a difference between N I MOT and the mainland. On the mainland the person who checks the vehicle can also pass it, if he is accredited. In N I no garage can pass the vehicle for MOT this can only be done by the dozen or so test centres. As I understand it at the moment, N I want to adopt the Mainland system while the mainland want to adopt the N I system.
