Where Americans have jelly, Britain has jam.

Where Britain has jelly, America has jell-O.

But most interesting of all is that Americans have the egg-plant, where as in Britain we get ours from chickens.

Also, in Britain if you exit a house from the first floor you'll end up in the hospital. In America you'll end up on the side-walk...Oops, foot-path.

Also, in the US, it is car rental, not car hire. I caused some confusion in the Avis office at Chicago airport a few years ago, enquiring about my hire car:
"Huh? Your car isn't high enough?"
