how long would it take for filler to dry, if I've filled a pin sized hole?

How long after this can i paint?

Obviously the risk is it's not yet dried completely so when i paint it cracks.. but it is only pin sized.

Tam, sounds like a good idea.
Way less than an hour.
Hey, we got to two pages!

I'd like to do a decent job, i feel toothpaste may be a very good bodge idea but for i'm going to go with the filler. Thanks for the idea though it was good.
It would have been dry by now ;-)

:D

I'm planning to crack on tomorrow, just trying to plan ahead
For such a small job I'd be inclined to go with toothpaste today, maybe mixed with a bit of magnolia to make it a stronger mixture. The it'll be well dry tomorrow.
A hole the size of a drawing pin? The paint will cover it. Absolutely no need for faffing about with filler.
Yes, just buy some paint with a high meniscus content.
Question Author
I've never heard the word meniscus before, what does that mean, like thick ?
It relates to surface tension, not to be confused with the tension that abounds when dealing with the wilfully........we'll leave it there.
Don't worry about meniscus content; you can always add your own meniscus if necessary.
Difficult to add exactly the right amount for such a small job though, atheist, easier to make a larger batch and use what's needed.
This will be a great waste of time and effort but hey, that's what we come here for innit.
Not an issue, Douglas. Simply titrate 0.00175 microgrammes of base fluid to ascertain the standard megadensity, then divide by 3.17542 to determine the required amount of meniscus per milligram. Such quantities are quite easy to measure with a pair of standard dope scales. No problem.
Of course! It's been so long that I'd forgotten the basics.

Many thanks for the refresher.

Judging by this thread I guess you're more of a horticulturist than a landscaper, spath?
Good gardening weather the last couple of days !!
Quite a lot of fuss here when a tiny bit of tubed fine polyfilla on your fingertip would have this done and dusted in about 2 minutes.
One normally open the hole up first. Otherwise what did it say on the filler container ?
