Hi , Pleeease can you help me. We have booked a holiday to Ireland and all the family have an up to date passport except my daughter. I have overlooked hers. Do we need a passport to travel to ireland????

However for security reasons your airline will demand a photo ID from all adult passengers. It depends on the airline what IDs they will accept, but a passport is always acceptable.
The ferry companies may be less fussy.

A group of us flew with Ryanair a few years ago and they would not let my Uncle on without a passport (the only pure Irish one of us), but he and my sister just booked another flight with Aer Fungus (sorry - Lingus). Ring the company you are travelling with. Even if you are disappointed with their answer, it is better knowing now than when you are in the middle of an air/ferry port. Good luck to you!
