I have about 2' square of space going spare in my greenhouse. I love sweet potatoes and was thinking of growing some. Not sure how they will fair in the Midlands, or what to grow them in. Any tips?

They are fun but a challenge. Are you on facebook? look for Spotgam group...(sweet potato growing ambitions) its a friendly group with members all over the UK. Sweet potatoes need a long hot summer, quite a bit of space and generous feeding. I tried for 4 years in a row and only got any kind of crop in one year. With respect to Jno, I would take the Thomson and Morgan assurances with a huge pinch of salt!

Thanks both. I may try them another year and go for something less challenging this year. Just can't decide what to do with that bit of floor space!
We did well with T&M egg and chips plant, so I have total faith.
Jno, how did you et on with the ketchup tree?
