Back in the eighties I read a book set in the 19th century about two Irish brothers who kidnapped the 16 year old daughter of an English man responsible for the attrocities of the English army (Black and Tans)in Ireland. After keeping her captive and in chains, the eldest brother falls in love with her. She escapes only to eventually return to her love. I would like to also know the name of the author.

I have looked at all the Victoria Holt titles and synopses' and cannot find the book that I read. It was just a romantic fiction but it was rather good and I wanted to find the author for other titles
