Well, I liked it.
Nice story.
People can change but it will never be easy.

"He did good" - I think that's a football phrase.
People really can turn their lives around, it's good there is support out there to help.

(I am 'assisting' a reluctant 10 y o in 11+ and it is very difficult not to snarl - 'do you realise you little twerp, you slack and fail this exam and you WRECK the rest of your life!' - - he doesnt of course - it took my brother 60 y to realise)

I did that for a muslim woman ( draped like a you-know-what) who didnt have the bus fare but DID have a baby

and the papers and TV stations didnt give a toss ( OK there werent any around)
The acknowledgement of the achievement of this young man and others who have (with help) pulled themselves up, shouldn't and hopefully doesn't cancel out any respect and thanks to those who have always trod the right path.

It certainly doesn't with me.
