This quiz seems to be mainly in the plural for some reason. Struggling with a couple of these which seem obvious, but contain words which are not quite correct. 7. Police lead singer is back in past tense (5) Am tempted to put gnats, but there is no such word as "stang"! Also, 21. Meadow leads Switzerland to the Spanish (7) Again, leeches would fit, but a meadow is a lea, not a lee, so, again, I'm puzzled. Anyone suggest where I'm going wrong.
I'd suggest your setter doesn't know how to spell leech in this context especially as leaches is also a valid word (which makes one wonder what they expect as the right answer!)
@Georgiesmum, I can't completely parse it but I think that the answer is
MILLIPEDE
German = D(eutschland), factory =MILL and pasty = PIE
chaotic = anagram
MILLIPEDEis an anagram of D+MILL+PIE (plus an extra E from somewhere)
