Discovered in 2007 we are now going to get a choice of 3 names to vote on, "Gonggong, Holle and Vili." - perlease 12 years and that's the best they could come up with! What should the new minor planet be called?

Based on the name opions given, it's a classical Kuiper belt object rather than one which crosses Neptune's orbit, and the naming convention is that they are given a mythical name not necessarily taken from Greek or Roman mythology.
That should deal with your "perlease" and the reason for those names being chosen. My choice would be Vili, though the others could also be appropriate.
