Yes i ventured over to the dales just last weekend. It was beautiful i’m going back soon :) i think i visited the place you mentioned, with the pub and river.

I want to go to Wedenslydale next time

There's a great little walk starting at Castle Bolton down to Carperby (where there is a great little pub called the Wheatsheaf) and back via different route more along the valley via High Thoresby.

Walking from Aysgarth Falls (where I can thoroughly recommend the Aysgarth Fall Hotel) up the side of the river to Askrigg (where i can thoroughly recommend The Kings Arms) is also good.

Wolf, he's fine thanks for asking. Enjoying the nice weather. Bit creaky and doddery but still eating and drinking plenty.

It is awful when they get older - every time they have an off day you convince yourself that the time has come.

My boy cat, Frankie, is 14 and has asthma and kidney failure and I convince myself that he won't last much longer.

His healthy sister dropped dead in November.
