Following a blood/urine test I got a call from the surgery telling me that they would like me to repeat the test in a month because my protein is'border line'. Can anyone explain what this means and what,if anything, I can do about it?

Incidentally, they have only asked me to repeat the blood test.
I take aspirin,carvedilol
Losartan,amlidopine and a statin

You still didn't say whether your protein presence was in the urine or your blood, although you say that they want to repeat your BLOOD test which seems to indicate that the rise in protein is in your blodd and not your urine.
That has confused me.
I am going to assume that the protein was found in your urine, in which case it is not uncommon to find protein in normal subjects, but may also be found in patients who have had a recent febrile illness or dehydrated.
Clearly, from your medication, you have hypertensive heart disease which could put a strain on your kidneys explaining the presence of protein in your urine.
don't worry........wait and see what the check tests show and keep us informed. Even if you have kidney problems due to your high blood pressure, at this stage it is no big deal.
