Happy - A N Z A C - Day.........settle An Argument.....

My Kiwi mate insists it stands for Australia New Zealand Auxiliary Corps, though all over the net including wikipedia the second A stands for Army. However In Tom Brooking's "A History of New Zealand" he does say it's Auxiliary. Anyone any better information?

I've always said "Army" - the first 3 dictionaries I just checked say the same.

Hope you shared the traditional ANZAC 'Gunfire Breaklfast'with your Kiwi mate. Traditionally a sprig of Rosemary is worn on ANZAC day. That commemorates the wild Rosemary they found growing abobe the cliffs at ANZAC Cove etc. during the Gallipoli campaign.
Today is the only day when the cops turn a blind eye to ANZAC vets playing 'Two-Up'. An illegal gambling game that was played in the trenches and estaminets .
