Not sure I quite agree with this.

Even children like to watch things. And unless you are going to give all the adults free tickets seems unfair.

How did child become held?? That’s autocorrect for you...
who said theatre was fair? i went to see a youth production of the lion witch and wardrobe with my daughter last week. she derived much more enjoyment from it thanme, yet her ticket was cheaper than mine. that not fair either. i cant really comment on your story as i cant open video links
From you post I'm not quite sure what you agree or disagree with.

This is a grown up West End play offering a baby friendly performance, when babies can cry without being shushed, be fed, shuffle about, come in and out of the auditorium as often as they need to. Whats not to like?
Hi cassa, were any given free tickets?
Also known as a 'relaxed' performance.
I think it's quite good, as long as it's advertised as such. I'd hate to buy a ticket then not be able to enjoy the performance because a load of kids were crying.
I've watched the video, it appears to have been a huge success, but there was no mention of free tickets.

In fact the theatre will have accepted a loss of income at this performance because it wont have sold out (172 people went to a theatre that probably holds 800/900) and anyone without a baby is likely to have avoided it.
I think it's superb- what's not to like? Mothers and fathers can introduce their littlies to theatre, which hopefully will instil a great love of it in the little folks who are our future audiences and it gives parents of small people the opportunity to get out, enjoy some culture, remember who they are and still be current to socialising where it's not all about the kids, which is surprisingly difficult, because whilst some places are baby and toddler friendly some really aren't and the tutting and glaring at the slightest noise of movement does get a bit wearing after a bit.
I'm assuming if you don't have small kids you'd not be going to this, so not sure what the 'unfair' aspect of it is, but we also need to remember that originally theatre was a very audfience participation raucus event, it's only become high-brow in the last 200 years or so. I'm all for it pesonally x
A great idea. Think it was advertised as being special performance for parents to bring littlies so presumably no unaccompanied adults. Provided the cast agrees a great idea as most theatres have an age restriction. Would be great for the new production of Joseph to have a performance for under fives as a great show for them.
