I dont think i knew that!??
Im in Scotland, and know a few who were in YO..... seems a bit of a “skoosh” to me! Unlocked cells, snooker tables, sky tv & playstations!!!
This programme had the prison guards shouting & giving out orders like bootcamp.
Reduced a previously cocky boy to tears! Hope he has learned a lesson.
They showed the YO’s the high security prisoners- frightening to watch x

... and these young people will go home to the people they have known all their lives, who will tell them it is nothing like that.
I saw a few minutes a couple of days back - inmates banging on glass-panelled cell doors, shouting threats - anybody who thinks it continues at that intensity 24 hours a day is a mug. The prisoners were reacting to their visitors, quite possibly in the way they have been asked to do every time they see teenagers in zebra stripes.
If US prisons, even the supermax facilities, were an effective deterrent they would be decreasing in number rather than increasing.
