If they're tinned, leave one in a plain container at the back of the fridge. Then when you come home bladdered and hungry a week later, you can have some fun trying to fry it up to go with your chips. ;-)
Seriously, fresh apricots are really nice on their own or, as you suggest, chopped up and served with cream, although that would defeat your health kick somewhat.
Steve, if you're on a health and fitness thing, why not watch the athletics on TV while you're eating your apricots? It may increase your motivation! That meringue sounds a bit fattening. What are you going to make for your little brother? Chicken and apricots is a well-known Middle-Eastern dish; this cuisine uses a lot of apricots. Have you rung Jobseeker Direct yet, re motivational advice? Someone has to keep an eye on you while your mum's away...
Hey violet I am 23 I can keep an eye on myself!! Not sure how old you thought I was and ok I admit some of the things I say could seem a bit younger than that but its a bit of a difficult time at the moment. Well its turkey stir fry today, my brother is out at work for the day so will do it when he gets back.
Im fairly motivated now actually! And I really dont like athletics....cant wait for the football season to start again. (My team is Arsenal)
I'm glad to hear it, Steve. I'm sorry to hijack your post, but if you think of any way of motivating oneself to take exercise, i would be very grateful to hear it. I hope you enjoyed your apricots. I prefer them tinned. They're nice with Greek yoghurt too. Turkey stir fry sounds nice and healthy; can't express the same enthusiasm for Arsenal.
Im not sure jobseeker direct can do anything for me and anyway I am on fire at the moment with getting things done etc. I might be a bit hesitant still but I just take a break and come back at something. I have a to do list and just picking most important and hardest tasks first.
Ok will just have the apricots with ice cream. I know sugar can defeat the healthiness but hey. I am trying to do 20mins exercise 6 days a week and eat my five a day. Had 8 fruit and veg yesterday. Woke up at 0615 today to listen to radio 2 (Sarah Kennedy) and pause for thought at 0620.
Then went for 20 min run (well fast jog!) and did some weights at home. Sorry to go on!
Dont worry about hijacking the post, it happend a lot on here. But thats life we all go off on a tangent, would prob be boring if we didnt!
Oh sorry about posting in two bits above but AB would not accept it otherwise.
Hum now you want motivation advice?! Exercise well yes thats a hard one i know its something that can be taken up for a week then not at al for 3 weeks. I would say just start with short things and work upwards. Walking is best then maybe a swim or some badminton with a friend.
Thanks for that. They say that the best way of motivating yourself is to try to motivate others! I was going to take up jogging, building up from walking, so your advice makes sense. You seem to be doing very well with your fruit & veg, well exceeding your 5 a day. Keep up the good work!
