Well we should, in this modern day and age!
you'd think so Sharon, but no doubt there will be plenty of folk to cry out ''what about those who don't have a computer?''

Wasn't in a Bush presidency race which ran into accusations of allsorts with computerised voting or was it just the way it was counted? Can't remember, sorry x
You mean the 'hanging chads'.

Well if the banks can do secure emailing I am sure the voting system can be put online !
Folks with no computers can walk and vote at a local point using a computer and those that wish can use pen and paper.
Not yet. Here's an article all about it from 2015. The difficulties outlined in this haven't been sorted yet as far as I know. https://www.computerweekly.com/feature/Tick-or-click-Why-electronic-voting-is-unlikely-in-2015
Thanks Jack s

Sharon, I agree with you, they can shove tax returns and vat returns online and that's got to be secure, so surely it's not beyond them to do online voting.
the s should be a x - sorry Jack
Another more recent article, that gives a World picture - actual online voting is quite rare - there are other methods.

Some have been tried and dropped.

Interesting to see which countries use it and the type used Mamya, thank you for the link.

IMHO, if people cannot be arrised to fill in a postal vote then they should be disenfranchised.
getting to a post box is not easy for some people

I reckon all on AB would support online voting as we seem glued to our pc's!!
the drawback to that Sharon, is we'd have to leave AB to vote lol
Postal voting has been a real boon for me, I am fortunate to have someone who'll post my mail though.

I'm sure systems will be developed, it's just taking a long time.
No , But you can vote by post or you can vote by 'Proxy' meaning you give someone premission to vote on your behalf . I did this for my Father when he was bed ridden near the end of his life ! On line voting is not yet sufficiently secure ! Anyone can ask for a postal vote by the way ! Not just those too ill to get to the voting station ! I did this when I was working permanent night shift ! Saved having to get up to vote!
For the love of god Step away from the exclamation marks Eddie
