I rated Bob Monkhouse very highly, Spike Milligan or Peter Sellers as gifted but troubled, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Monty Python, ...

Modern greats include Ross Noble, Rob Bryon, Josie Long, the Marks (Steel, Thomas or Watson), Joe Lycett, Katherine Ryan, David Mitchell, Armando Iannucci, but perhaps the greatest modern comedy genius, Chris Morris.
