The meal prices quoted here vary from US$0.75 (about 40p) for a simple 'lunch box' at a local eating house, up to US$30 (about 16) for a top class restaurant, serving dishes like grilled lobster: http://www.acrosscuba.com/index.php?L=4&B=42
A friend has just come back from cuba and was amazed at the poverty - they actually use ration books for food purchasing (the locals i mean!) his 5* all inclusive hotel was faultless. But the standard and availability of food out was not good apparently.
In Havana At A Parc Central(sic) Pizza Place, not unlike a smart London Pizzaria
1 x Garlic Bread
2 x Pizza Express Style Pizzas
4 x Local Cristal Beers
Was about 20.
Beers in a bar can cost anything from 1 up. Somewhere snazzy in Havana the prices are about the same as UK.
One thing though, i couldn't get my ATM card to work anywhere and neither could my wife, we are Barclays Bank and HSBC. I know loads of other who had problems too. So take cash / travellers cheques.
