Just wondering how the change to a vegetarian diet is going? Are you finding it difficult/enjoyable?

Hello naomi, only just seen this! I have only started this week and it is going well, but I have been a vegetarian before. My OH cooks a lot for us and he is a brilliant cook, it's a hobby of his and tonight he is making a veggie chilli, which he has made before. He will eat it with me, but will still eat meat himself now and then. I have also bought several veggie microwave meals and frozen them. My favourite is a chickpea curry and another is mashed squash with veggie sausages ! Luckily I love beans on toast and I love eggs, and as I've mentioned before I absolutely love Greggs vegan sausage rolls ! I would find it hard to become a vegan. Luckily, I love all veg. apart from cucumber and mushrooms. I'm not sure if I'll stick it, Christmas dinner was my downfall last time, but I'm going to give it a damn good try ...

HereIam, so pleased it’s going well for you. Nothing wrong with vegetable curry! Will you take supplements? I only ask because a friend went vegetarian and subsequently had a problem with her blood. She eats fish occasionally now and is fine.

She buys vegetarian sausages called 'Cauldron', I think. I had them from her barbeque. They're really good!!
No, I won't be taking supplements naomi, I didn't last time and was fine. I haven't heard of those sausages you mention. Apart from missing Christmas dinner, I will also miss proper sausages, but Linda MaCartney's aren't too bad. I had crisp butties for my lunch today with tomato sauce - yum !

Those sausages are really good, HereIam. I actually asked what they were - never dreaming they were vegetarian. I think they're sold in all the big supermarkets.

I went veggie for 3 or 4 years. Couldn't stick it.
Right, I am going food shopping tomorrow, I will definitely look out for them in Asda and if I can get some, I'll let you know what I think of them. The Cumberland ones sound rather nice ..

Happy shopping. :o)
Ta !
Hey naomi - couldn't find those sausages in Asda today. Will check Sainsbury's the next time I go there.

When you find them I do hope you like them. Be awful if you didn't after I've recommended them. :o/
Don't worry naomi, I won't blame you if I don't like them (haha).
Those sausages look interesting, especially as I’m trying to cut meat out a couple of times a week. I’ll give them a whirl if I can get them in our local Tesco.
Yes, I admit I'd like to try them. Linda MaCartney's are ok btw.
When you say OK, do you mean OK, passable, or OK, quite good?

If anyone's interested I make a mean Lasagne with Quorn. I don't have a recipe - I just kind of throw it together with onion, peppers, seasoning, Bisto and a bit of Marmite (both veggie) - but I make it in a big roasting dish for the buffet at our family gatherings - and I can guarantee it disappears in record time - mainly down the gullets of the meat eaters!
Quite good rocky. My OH often cooks with Quorn naomi, I like it.
hereiam, there is a famous vegetarian restaurant in palachora Crete called the 3rd eye,we visit 4 times a week when we are there,,the lady who does the meals is from New Zealand, the meals are fantastic ,just thought I would mention it for anyone who is going to Crete.
I never go abroad Jordy, too scared to fly any more now ! Wish we had a veggie restaurant near to me as I'd definitely frequent it. I have been to Greece before, but not Crete.
