looking for the name/meaning of a symbol

alright this may be a bit odd of a question but there is this symbol that i have seen a few times its hard to explain but basically it looks like an S except in the middle of the S <--- in the curve is some leaf/flower petal looking things.. its not complex but hard to describe without a picture and i don't know what it is called to find a picture of it again u see? this is very important to me to find out what this symbol is and if anyone has any idea or clue what i am talking about and ANY information reguarding it i would appreciate any sort of help, very much thank you kindly ~Phoenix~

Where exactly have you seen this symbol? From your description, it sounds a little like some kind of Celtic sign, but if you can tell me where you have seen it, I might be able to help.

An inscription, on a grave-stone, perhaps ? An S with three cuts intersecting the middle ? Is this not a cypher for IHS -Iesus Hominum Salvator ? or In Heaven Sleeping, as I've heard it described as ?

i have a book called 1002 symbols - but it has 994 pages, sop if you can give me more information - anything not matter how vague, something to check first, i will look for you.

perhaps a vague idea of the first letter or a vague sense of its meaning - i.e spriritual, religious, pagan, sovereignty, celtic etc etc

also is it an actual S or just a vague shape of one - i will look in the S section

i have only seen twice and the second time i seen i tattoo'd it to my heart sooooo i would kinda like to know what it is
.. as far as the shape.. yes it looks like an S
the middle has like 4 leaf lookin things i can't explain it... they are centered perfectly in the middle where the 2 loops things combine..
its top and bottoms have like clefs like the tp of the S has a clef, and the bottom does sorta...
frickin hard to explain but its actually quite a simple looking symbol

no dear, doesn't help i have tried going there myself, thank you
i could draw it no problem yeh, but i don't know how to get that drawing onto this computer to even show someone what it looks like to find out what it means...
its very frustrating.. and its not something i made up er whatever, i saw it on the internet bout 6 years ago, and loved it and started drawing it
felt very drawn to the symbol tho i didn't know what it meant
now i'm very curious as to what it does mean

could it be one someone has just made up as a logo or something? such as an S for their name and a symbol for their business or something

try also webdings and wingdings and others in MS word as they seem to have a lot of unusual leafy shapes etc

i looked through my whole book and didn't see anything similar i'm afraid

i suppose that is possible - and i've always known that is possible

but u never know...
someone might know what i am talking about yet
because a friend of mine said it's supposed to be something spiritual i dunno if he knew what he was talkin bout
but he knew the symbol
who knows... i will just leave this question up for awhile, you never know who will know what...
