He has done it again. He made a mess of his own itinary of his holiday.
He has now done the same thing with our holiday. On our calendar it says we are going on holiday to Luxembourg next Sunday. I got all the paperwork out and we are not going until Tuesday. On closer scrutiny he has also messed up the return dates. We are coming home via Belgium and staying in a hotel there overnight, but he has booked the return tunnel trip that day too. I have had to change the tunnel trip to the next day, costing another £10 for the trouble.
In future he is not booking anything on his own anymore!
It's sad really, he enjoys plotting all our holidays, sorting out ferries or tunnels, overnight stops at hotels etc. He has always done it so well for years, but now I think he needs a bit of help to make sure we get to where we are supposed to be going.
Caran.....it doesn't really matter if it's only minor blips. MrG always made all the arrangements and loved doing it....he was really efficient and on the ball. Towards the end he made mistakes...the illness...the pills...who knows....but we laughed it off.
So much had been taken away from him through his illness so I encouraged him to do as much as he wanted and felt he could.....just keeping a discreet eye to make sure it wasn't a disaster... :-)
It is worrying though, we could have set off for Dover on Sunday and found no crossing booked. No hotel booked,
And the same on the return journey. He now needs to have my input on the organisation of these things. It's sad really as he always enjoyed this part of a holiday.
I do all flight bookings, airport car parking bookings, car hire bookings accommodation bookings.
I can only hold my hands up to one error.
Booked flights and accommodation for a long weekend away in the Algarve. Everything went well till we came home.
Had an email off the hotel we stayed in.
It transpired I’d booked the hotel for the month before. A whole 4 weeks.
Can’t see why the receptionist didn’t pick it up on the prepaid voucher confirmation.
