Can anyone tell me,If I buy car insurance over the internet am I able to print out a certificate immediatly or do I have to wait days for them to post it to me?

You can print something out but it will not be valid for the purpose of taxing your car - unless you do it online where you just put the policy number in the right box.

I get mine through its4me, you have to wait for them to send it out - takes about 2-3 days

i bought mine online. I was given the option of printing my documents at home or get them sent through the post for an extra cost. I printed them myself including certificate. I taxed my car with no problems.
