I'm not sure if it's due to the profession i'm in, but i thought everyone knew Summer starts at the end of June, and ends at the end of September.

Summer? Plenty of rain where I am of late.Tomorrow pm is also going to be a wash-out :-(

Oh for crying out loud, it's only early June and I personally am glad it's not as hot as it was last year, it became unbearable day after day after day ! The longest day doesn't mean it suddenly starts going dark at 6 p.m. the next day, it's a slow gradual thing. Where I live, today has been sunny, warm with a breeze, just as I like it. Oh and we had a short thunder storm too !!

24th June is Midsummers day, so even then we have another half of summer to look forward to.

Yes, the official start of summer. AOG is referring to "mid summers day" which doesn't occur "mid summer".

It's otherwise known as the summer solstice
